This design and build project, won on tender for Crest Nicholson (Regeneration) was to construct a new Waitrose store (shell only) together with associated car park, highway and external works. In addition a new 4 storey, timber frame residential block was constructed adjacent to the retail units. These works included a large public realm area.
The scheme required site stabilisation and significant S278 works from Chaffron Way prior to commencing on site. A major client variation halfway through the shell works represented a key challenge for the team. However all these works were successfully incorporated and early access dates were secured for the tenant Waitorose.
RG Group were also appointed by Waitrose for the fit out works and RG successfully ran two separate project teams through the last weeks of the project. Both teams focussing on their clients requirements but working together for the overall scheme.
