RG Group completed the design and build of the new student accommodation development for Unite Students at Derby Road, Lenton, Nottingham. The development is located next to the University of Nottingham campus.
The new development comprises of 661 cluster flats with en-suite bathrooms and 39 studio apartments across 2 blocks of 6 storey in height. The development also incorporated the provision of a 1,648m2 shell and core commercial space. The scheme also provides ancillary facilities including: laundry room, office space, plant areas, a separate reception area, refuse storage, a common room and bicycle storage. Externally an extensive courtyard space has been provided for students and public realm works were also undertaken to Derby Road.
The works also included the demolition of a former car showroom and clearance of the site.
The development proposes to be net zero carbon, running with 100% renewable energy.
