We’re delighted to announce the completion of our Coventry Friars Road project for Crosslane.

Following 85 weeks of hard work, Friars Road achieved Practical Completion on Monday 2 September 2019. The building sits on a small parcel of land at the corner of Friars Road and St. Patricks Road in Coventry City Centre, with works to build the 604 bed student accommodation. Building commenced on site, later than originally planned, on Monday 15 January 2018.

With the first upper floor slab being cast in April 2018, the RC Frame topped out in just under 10 months, having cast a further 57 upper floor slabs.

All was progressing nicely, with internal fit-out commencing in July 2018, when the glazing contractor on the project entered administration. This inevitably caused some disruption, but we put measures in place that allowed the internal fit-out to progress to completion as planned.

Having achieved a CCS score of 41 in 2018, we managed to go one better in 2019 and achieved a score of 42, with the project being awarded a Certificate of Excellence following the final visit in August 2019. With the Project handing over on time we continued to support the Client to ensure the building was ready for the first intake of students on Saturday 14 September 2019.
