Unite Students Wembley was delivered in September 2016 as a full Design and Build package solution, including turnkey and loose FF&E to the employers requirements.
The BREEAM Excellent scheme provides accommodation for 699 students, (629 bedrooms and 70 studios). A large common room was constructed on the first floor, along with various study areas and living spaces, including a number of landscaped roof terraces.
In addition to the Student Accommodation, two commercial units were constructed facing Olympic Way to the employer’s commercial specification. A new external landscaping scheme was installed, including the implementation of mandatory VDA security protection measures.
The buildings concrete frame structure is a hybrid, utilising precast columns and twin wall, with insitu poured concrete slabs. The complex cladding system is primarily formed of SIKA Tack bonded vitrabond rain screen cladding panels, and glazed units.
RG Group were approached to take on the project from a standing start, due to the appointed main contractor defaulting three months into their appointment. With the need to ensure delivery for the 2016 academic year, we celebrate this success. We are proud to have delivered such a prestigious scheme for Unite Students, and that they have secured a 5 year nomination deal with a local university.
