RG Group were appointed the shell construction works at Horizon Retail Park by SteamRock. Works included the construction of three new buildings comprising of multiple units. External works were undertaken within the scope of the contract, inclusive of car park, service yard and the highway.

The substructure works involved piling and ground floor slabs to enable the steel frame buildings to be erected. Blockwork, walls, mechanical and electrical installations and fire proofing were constructed and installed internally.

The external facades were finished with high level windows and doors, brise soleil, glass canopies, Soffite cladding and aluminium metal lash screening with ambient façade lighting. Plant areas were constructed to the buildings steelwork and metal deck roof spaces accompanied by fall arrest systems, roof access lighting and lightning protection systems.

The external works included the main services works such a new substation construction and associated services infrastructure and connections. Additionally, a concrete slab service yard was constructed to the rear of the buildings. Carpark works included retaining walls to adjacent store boundaries, drainage and services duct works and their connections, cycle rack installations, street furniture, paving, vehicle barriers as well as soft landscaping and planting. Highway works required traffic management to facilitate the phased kerb realignments, street lighting, signals and controls, new islands and crossing points, new bellmouth to site and surfacing works. Adjoining road resurfacing and carpark services works were carried out during nights.
