This project involved the construction of a new build self storage facility in Park Royal, London.
The 9,600m2 self-storage unit was constructed over 6 levels including concrete ground floor and timber mezzanine levels above to a BREAAM excellent rating. Externally the building envelope consisted of masonry and Kingspan cladding on a structural steel frame. Internally the storage units were constructed along with reception and welfare facilities. Externally tarmac hard standings to form car parking at the front and side completed the works.
The rear elevation had a significant overhang from 2nd storey upward. To complete the cladding works along this elevation scaffolding has to be erected within the River Brent. Other challenges included sectional completion of shell prior to any internal works being carried out including the 5 mezzanine levels.
