This project involved the construction of a new build self storage facility in Deptford, London.
The 12,165m2 self storage unit comprises of basement, ground plus four additional floors. The project involved demolition of existing structures and remediation of the site prior to construction.
The groundworks were undertaken under careful guidelines specified within UXO report considering the proximity to an adjacent infilled canal.
The basement structure and main steel structure was sheet piled with concrete capping beams. The basement and ground floors were constructed with concrete and timber mezzanine levels above.
Tarmac hardstanding’s were constructed to form a covered car parking area. The building envelope consisted of masonry and Kingspan cladding on a structural steel frame. Additionally, the design incorporated lift installations, a customer business centre, office areas, WCs, cycle parking, a green roof and PV panels.
The project achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and completed on time, within budget and in accordance with the programme and sectional completion targets.
