This project involved the fit out of a 695,000 sq.ft net distribution depot for Sainsbury’s. in addition to the fit out of Vehicle Maintenance Units and 2No. Gatehouses.
The project located in Watham Point adjacent to the M25 motorway required detailed integration between the developers shell team and tenant fit-out works. The project also required coordination of design, operations and systems between the mechanical handling, IT, design and construction teams
At the time of this project RG Group had just completed the full shell and fit out of an identical depot in Hams Hall in Birmingham. Our client asked us to assist the shell contractor in developing their programme and assisting them in accelerating the works.
The fit out works were completed Fast track to meet Sainsbury’s operational deadlines and also allowed for providing early MHE access and safely integrate these works with the fit-out operations.
The programme also facilitated the partial operation of the depot from week 35 through to the end of the project.
