RG Group were appointed to, following demolition, create the space for Digital Lab – 850m2 of new office space win Basement level 2 of Sainsbury’s Head Office in Holborn, London. The office space consisted of open plan office and various meeting rooms / work spaces built up of 160m2 of new mezzanine space, 130m2 of created new space via structural infill and 560m2 of existing floor plate.
The entire area was stripped back to existing concrete frame construction, a new mezzanine was then suspended off existing concrete beams. All new M&E services consisting of below floor power / data, full LED feature lighting scheme and feature S/S circular ductwork.
New staircase linking the lobby and other floors were installed. Works were completed in a live office building environment with floor above / below and on same level in constant use by the building users. Access to the area was also restricted by use of current goods lift and so all elements installed needed to be no longer than 3m in length.
