RG Group were appointed the main contractor for the construction of a new build 3 storey car park at Cottis Lane, Epping. The scheme included the construction of a new multi storey car park, new substation, LV switch room and S278 works to the highway. The project formed the first stage of a two phase development that would eventually include a new cinema / leisure centre, retail and office space.
The project consisted of piled foundations with a steel frame superstructure. The levels were formed using precast concrete planks topped with a reinforced concrete topping. The façade to Cottis Lane was formed using metal fins, precast panels and curtain walling at the ground floor level. The scheme included two stairways, one of which included two lifts within the staircore. All M&E, balustrading, entry / exit barriers, wayfinding signage and car park lining elements to the car park levels and stair cores were completed as part of the project. External landscaping and street furniture were also included to the perimeter areas of the development.
The car park provides 15 No. electric charging spaces, 14 No. disabled spaces (two of which are electric charging) and 311 standard parking bays.
