Works at the Primark Uxbridge store comprised the full 33,000sqft refurbishment to the latest GURU Primark standard.
The programme included the demolition and strip out of the existing store, alterations and fit out. Fit out works were inclusive of sales floor screeding and associated finishing’s, ceilings, shop fit and wall paneling throughout, internal and external signage, lighting works, glazed balustrading and handrails, cash and wrap desk installations, 2no escalators, 2no customer lifts, 2no goods lifts in new shafts and external façade works as well mechanical, electrical and sprinkler installations throughout. The works included the final store finishing’s and decorations inclusive of back of house areas and stock and storage areas.
The works included a crane lift from the adjoining high street with traffic management in place and close liaison with local highways and council departments. All lifting was carried out in one day to minimise disruptions to the surrounding commerce.
The works were carried out in a single phase during store downtime, with two sectional completions to permit early client access. The cash office and complete back of house areas were handed over 3 weeks prior to practical completion and the front of house areas handed over 2 weeks prior to practical completion. All works were completed on time and within budget to the satisfaction of the client.
