Works comprised of the extension and re-fit of the existing Primark retail unit at Meadowhall Shopping Centre, Sheffield. The extension provides new front of house retail areas whilst the existing live trading store receives front of house refurbishment to retail areas and full staff and warehouse facilities back of house. Works were carried out in two main development phases.
Phase 1 consisting of the ground floor fit out, providing 21,000sqft of sales area plus electrical switch room and staff areas in the rear . The new shopfront incorporated a stepped bulkhead making use of the height of the new mall façade. New shopfronts, entrances and window displays included full height glazing and illuminated branding. New sales areas comprised of cash and wrap tills, fitting rooms and separate tills to the live trading space. Phase 2 consisted of the complete lower mall strip out and refurbishment, including flooring, ceiling, lighting and windows. Additionally the upper mall refurbishment, consisting of new flooring, new ceiling and lighting, perimeter structural amendments to facilitate the new layout and new signage, new fitting rooms, WCs, new entrances and closing off one existing entrance with its conversion into a display window. Furthermore, works included mezzanine staff area refurbishment and roof plant deck area refurbishment. Across both phases of works RG Group constructed new open displays to new window units, new sales areas, refund and exchange areas and 55no cash desks throughout.
All works were carried out to Primark’s latest GURU standards, completed on time and within budget to the satisfaction of the client.
