The Weaver Place development comprises of 823 student accommodation bedrooms for Olympian Homes as developer, and IQ Student Accommodation as building operator.
The project consisted of three main towers of 20, 11 & 10 stories respectively, with shared amenity spaces to the lower and ground floors linking the accommodation towers.
The central atrium houses the reception area, shared social spaces including a Gym, games room, large lounge and study areas. The bedrooms consist of a mixture of individual studios, twin flats and cluster flats with shared kitchens. Externally the building features a large internal courtyard area laid to lawn.
The main structure of the buildings were constructed using a reinforced concrete frame with the external envelope consisting of SFS & aluminum cladding, windows & curtain walling.
The ground works and foundations comprised of 410 rotary bored piles up to 15m in depth and included the bridging of a significant sewer that crossed the site with a 2m deep transfer structure.
Under the Considerate Constrictors Scheme the project achieved a score of 45.
