Newcastle Racecourse Tattersall Bar was a full strip out of a large commercial area and refurbishment of existing areas as well as new elements such as betting shops formed on the ground floor of Newcastle race course grandstand.
The project for Newcastle Racing & Events was undertaken on a design and build basis including a full M+E design.
Strip-out and early works included asbestos removal to floors and ceilings and extensive drainage repairs within the building including a rain water systems to a new single ply membrane roof to the unit. Fit out included the refurbishment of 2 existing bars, toilets and kitchen. New areas were formed with specialist joinery element including back pour bar installation, betting shop area, chip shop and café / coffee shop. Client led direct contractors were co-ordinated within the build including all audio visual and kitchen suppliers installed within the overall construction period.
A server room was maintained with all fibre optic connections through the unit and existing services feeding many areas of the racecourse. Race day events were considered and programmed within the working phases allowing for undisturbed racing events during the project.
