RG Group were appointed the main contractor for the construction of a new 36,500 sq. ft. Sainsbury’s Supermarket in Brackley, Northamptonshire.
The scheme consisted of a new store including a bakery and hot food / pizza counters. To the side of the store were the colleague office accommodation areas and to the front of the store was an Argos concession unit and customer toilet facilities.
New external landscaping and customer car park were included within the project scope, which included a new access route for the store service yard. We also constructed a new substation and sprinkler tanks within the service yard. The car park was completed with new external lighting and CCTV installations in line with Sainsbury’s current specification standards.
The store construction consisted of pad foundations with ground beams and a steel frame superstructure. The roof was constructed using Kingspan ‘Topdeck’ composite roof. The store envelope was formed using Eurobond Rainspan composite cladding and glazing. The internal fit out included all MERS services, flooring, partitioning, joinery, decorations, signage and FF&E.
