The Symons House scheme comprises 351 premium student accommodation bedrooms split between studio and clusters ranging from two to ten bedrooms. Amenity spaces to the lower and ground floor, with private dining and roof terrace to level 8.
Due to access agreements with a nearby neighbour the lower part of the reinforced concrete frame was constructed around the tower crane, the slabs and rooms were then completed post removal.
The specification evolved from our L&S Crown House in Sheffield and much work was done with the design team and client to refine and learn from the previous product. This helped further improve the processes on site and enhance the finished product.
The project has received the CCS national silver award having supported local homeless charities, raised over £4,000 for BHF and prostate cancer UK and shared health and safety learnings with the wider public.
