The project was to construct a new, 150 bed Hampton by Hilton hotel to the 2018 Hilton brand standard incorporating where agreed, portions of the 2020 specification. The new hotel adjacent to the M4 motorway was constructed over 6 storeys with ground floor hospitality and back of house areas.
Construction comprised CFA piled foundations with a structural steel podium frame. A lightweight King Frame system was then used from podium to roof level.
Externally the hotel is clad with a fully compliant metal cladding system and curtain walling. Internal fitting out is to the latest brand turnkey specification. External works including soft and hard landscaping, parking and signage complete the project.
The project encompassed modern methods of construction utilising off site fabricated bathroom pods and prefabricated risers.
The entire project was carried out within the period of the Covid 19 global pandemic which led to significant challenges with labour and material supply. The team successfully delivered the project by careful planning of the works and scheduling of materials.
