Following 85 weeks of hard work, Friars Road achieved Practical Completion on Monday 2 September 2019.
The building sits on a small parcel of land at the corner of Friars Road and St. Patricks Road in Coventry City Centre, with works to build the 604 bed student accommodation building commencing on site on Monday 15 January 2018.
With the first upper floor slab being cast in April 2018, the RC Frame topped out in just under 10 months, having cast a further 57 upper floor slabs.
Installation of the external envelope made use of the climbing protection screen, by installing the SFS, cement particle board and windows from the bottom deck of the screen.
Having achieved a CCS score of 41 in 2018, we managed to go one better in 2019 and achieved a score of 42, with the Project being awarded a Certificate of Excellence following the final visit in August 2019.
