The project comprised of the construction of a 2 storey steel framed food and retail park totaling 50,000sqft GFA and a 2,000 person capacity. Boxpark is the worlds first pop-up mall concept, with Boxpark Wembley being the third and largest site to date. The structures are built using refitted shipping containers forming a multi purposed temporary shopping mall and events space, consisting of a mezzanine level and large atrium spaces.
Boxpark Wembley utilises a steel frame and PCC planks and slabs with a structural screed at the first floor level. Internally, the building consists of blockwork walls and curtain walling, PCC stairs, lifts, WCs, the units themselves and internally cladded finishes. The building is self serviced with a dedicated substation, stats infrastructure, drainage and attenuation, complimenting the temporary mall design ethos. Externally, the building has glazed entrance areas. The main building is cladded to form a solid skin and finished with a wrap, offering a low cost, highly aesthetic and lightweight solution. External hard landscaping and paving tied the site into its surroundings.
The projects successfully completed within budget and met its target completion date.
